In today's narrative, we delve into two harrowing tales of kidnappings - an experience that is undeniably one of the most horrifying ordeals a person can endure. The first call traces back to October 30th, 2013, from the kidnapper himself, Brett Lee Curtis, who was 28 at the time.

In an audacious act, Curtis brought his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Hamilton, into his car against her will, and then proceeded to dial 911 as he was being pursued by police on I-95.
Curtis warned the police off, threatening to open fire not only at the police but also at Hamilton if the chase continued. The abduction commenced the previous day, right after Hamilton finished work. Interestingly, she was due to meet a judge the next day, to discuss obtaining a restraining order against Curtis. As hours rolled by without a word from her, Hamilton's mother reported her missing, ensuing in the high-speed pursuit.

During the call, the dispatcher communicates with both Curtis and Hamilton, attempting to defuse the escalating situation. Curtis insists on police retreat and proclaims his intent to take Hamilton home, whereas the dispatcher seeks to keep him on the line.
Caller (Kidnapper): "Back them up, or I start opening fire."
Dispatcher: "Don't do this. Where are you at this moment? Let's end this peacefully."

Unfortunately, the situation ended tragically when Curtis, halted by punctured tires, decided to take his own life before officers could apprehend him. Miraculously, Hamilton managed to escape unharmed and later explained Curtis's disturbing motive to have her spend his last moments with him.
